AWDOVERLANDERS (All Wheel Drive Overlanders)

There is a growing demand for overland expedition vehicles in the UK and we are receiving dozens of calls and emails every week from people looking to build their own vehicle based on an ex military chassis.

Before you do anything, please read the section (LICENSING REQUIREMENTS) as this contains important information which relates specifically to the use of a military chassis and taking it out of the UK.

Choose from a selection of chassis in either 4x4, 6x6 or even 8x8 format.

Chassis Type

Cargo Trucks

Ex. Military Cargo trucks are built to withstand a tougher lifestyle than that of most civilian counterparts.

The trucks we offer are available either as they came to us from the relevant MOD authority without any preparation or fully prepared and even painted if required.

Winch Trucks

Some of the cargo trucks are fitted with a hydraulic winch system which can be useful if intending to go extreme off roading.

License Requirements (IMPORTANT)

IMPORTANT! A vehicle which has been specially designed for military use or which has integrated components which are specially designed for military use will require an export license if being transported overseas for any reason whatsoever.

  • A change of colour
  • DOES NOT REMOVE THE NEED FOR A LICENSE
  • A V5 STATING MOTORHOME (OR SIMILAR)
  • DOES NOT REMOVE THE NEED FOR A LICENSE
  • Turning it into an overland expedition vehicle
  • DOES NOT REMOVE THE NEED FOR A LICENSE
  • Temporary relocation outside of the UK i.e. holidaying
  • DOES NOT REMOVE THE NEED FOR A LICENSE
Be aware that the above relates specifically to the UK however the same rules are also applicable to all EU countries which means you may require a license for each country you are moving the vehicle from stating the country to which the vehicle is being re-located.
